HTP member Lucy Sanna is extending an invitation to members to attend The 6th Annual Gold Rush Writer's Conference April 29 - May 1, 2011
This event is not in the immediate area, but it’s a locally based, nonprofit, annual event in the Gold Country. The event is sponsored by Poets & Writers Magazine, The Arts Council of Calaveras County, and others and will be held at the historic Leger Hotel in picturesque Mokelumne Hill "where writing professionals will guide you to a publishing bonanza through a series of panels, specialty talks, celebrity lectures, open mic readings—and 15 writing workshops from which to choose—where you can go one-on-one with successful poets, novelists, biographers, memoirists, research specialists, and short story writers."
The cost for the weekend conference is just $175, which includes a picnic supper in a Victorian garden Friday evening, Saturday dinner at the historic hotel, and Sunday brunch poolside (if weather permits). Some of the hands-on critique workshops have a limited registration, and those are closing fast!
