Acterra welcomes Bill McKibbon: Do The Math Tour

  • Saturday, November 10, 2012
  • 6:00 PM
  • Spangenberg Theatre 780 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto

Acterra is sponsoring an event with author and climate activist Bill McKibbon who founded 350.org. The “Do The Math” tour will stop at Spangenberg Auditorium in Palo Alto. You are welcome attend and help spread the word. Find out more here.

Bill McKibben will be joined by Josh Fox, director of the film "Gasland" about fracking, along with a cast of inspirational musicians, actors and activists. Picking up the momentum from McKibben's piece in Rolling Stone this summer, “Global Warming’s Terrifying New Math”, attendees will be invited to help 350.org kick off a bold new campaign: divesting the financial resources of our colleges, churches and government away from the fossil fuel industry.

Oil, coal and gas companies are poised to burn five times the amount of carbon our planet can actually handle. They’re making more money than any other companies in history, and they’re using this cash to influence government policies in their favor. As McKibben puts it: “It’s not that we have a philosophical difference with the fossil fuel industry, it’s that their business model is destroying the planet.”

Tickets are $10. Seating is limited, click here
